Draft Pick
|
Predict How the NHL Draft Will Go
Do the first round, second if you want.
(I'm only doing the top ten as I dont know much about the later people in the draft.)
1.Seth Jones - Florida needs a D prospect
2.Darnell Nurse - This may surprise you, but Colorado REALY needs a D-man, either this, or trade up.
3.Jonathan Drouin - St. Louis is getting up there in age
4.Nathan Mackinnon - Nashville is looking for a star forward.
5.Valeri Nichuskin - Carolina with Skinner, both Stalls can probobly afford the risk.
6. Aleksander Barkov - Please, Please, please, please, please!!
7.Rasmus Ristolainin - Edmonton finally takes a defenseman, to bad Nurse was taken.
8. Hunter Shinkurak - They traded Pominville, maybe he will replace him?
9. Anthony Mantha - Lacking a power forward New Jersey is.
10. Nikita Zadorov - Dallas needs a Stud D-man
EDIT: Barring lottery of course.

Disagree with most of this. I think teams will take best player available in the top 10.

Indeed. Can't really see it, unless based on team needs, which is what thus poster seems to be suggesting.
Someone enlighten me: is the lottery for 1st overall only, then remaining order is determined by standings? Or could Calgary conceivably pick 2,3,4,5 as well?

Over the next 5 years, Domi is going to he the best player to come out of this draft.

Winner moves to first, the order is just moved down from there. Ie Calgary wins it and we move to 1st. Folrida moves down to second Colorado moves down to third etc.

First only. Although I wish it was for all 14 non-playoff teams. It would make things a lot more intriguing.

Goddamn St. Louis jumping up the standings. Would have been nice to get a mid-round pick.

-Oilers win the lottery and draft Drouin 1st
-Mackinnon slides to us and we pick Nichushkin instead
Yup. Seems about right.

Some way, some how the Flames will get screwed out of the player they want. Edmonton will get the first overall pick.
It is destiny.

Thats pretty much the way i see it also. The only change would be Shinkaruk to Buffalo and Lindholm to Dallas.

Florida - Mackinnon
Colorado - Jones
Tampa - Drouin
Nashville - Barkov
Carolina - Monahan
Calgary - Lindholm
Edmonton - Nurse
Buffalo - Horvat
New Jersey - Shinkaruk
Dallas - ? Domi?
Top 3 I can only see Tampa picking Drouin. Could go either way for top 2. Nashville probably takes Barkov since he's probably BPA at that spot plus fits their team really well. Canes definitely do not take Nichushkin or a defence.
I feel like Nichushkin falls out of top 10. Guessing to the Rangers in the middle of the round.

If anybody takes Nichushkin in the top 6 its the Canes. Not sure why they would not draft D over a center? Canes just gave their 2nd line center a 10 year contract. His brother has 3 years left but i highly doubt they are going to let him go.

The Oilers will not be taking a D-man IMO.
They will make a trade for an NHL D-man and pick Monahan
