Should have happened months ago.
Colorado has some good young pieces in Duchene, O'Reilly, Landeskog, etc. They need help on defense.

Surprised it took this long.
Hopefully they extend the GM though, if nothing else for matching the Flames offer sheet and saving this board from the nightmare of watching another team take the 6th (or 1st) overall pick.
Sacco still has the World Championships, like Sutter last year, to keep his mind off of the offseason (though I assume he still gets paid for a year or more).....after the planned Vegas trip of course.

He may need some more income after that Vegas trip though.
The one thing you should never do is go to Vegas just after losing your job....

I'd imagine Avs management was OK with him pissing away this shortened season though, so they could add another top pick to the fold.

I'd be shocked if Sherman was back next year.
I believe the rumors are Sakic is interested in some sort of upper management position but not GM at this point because he has a young family.
