HNIC 2013 schedule including playoffs.
There were no split telecasts for the first three Saturdays of the season so everything was straight forward. The next three weeks will have split telecasts.
Here is a great link to the best organized schedule for all the HNIC games.
http://canadiansportsfan.files.wordp...2013-final.pdf
For this Saturday, February 9, there is a split telecast at 1200h for Hockey Day In Canada. It is unfortunate that for HDIC this year, there will not be a quadruplet header. The Oilers at Red Wings game is for the Windsor area and the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. The Jets at Senators is for everywhere else.

Hot off the press for February 16, Senators at Leafs will be the national game except for the province of Quebec. That province will get the Flyers at Canadiens game.

For the 15 Saturdays this season, the CBC will have seven tripleheaders and ten split telecasts. The main difference is there are no three or four way split telecasts, just two games to split.
It is unfortunate that the Jets will have only one HNIC game during Saturday prime time and that is against the Leafs. The rest of their Saturday games are all matinees in which five of them are on the CBC and the other three are on TSN Jets regionally. There are two Friday special games on HNIC which will start an hour earlier than normal.
The Senators have five games in prime time, but four are against the Leafs. They also have three Saturday matinees on Sportsnet East and the Oilers also have three Saturday matinees on Sportsnet West. Surprisingly, the Canucks have one matinee against the Kings on Sportsnet Pacific.
The Flames on Saturdays only play in the evening on HNIC and the same goes for the Leafs. The Habs are the same except for their traditional Super Bowl matinee weekend games plus a Thursday special.

As a watcher of Winnipeg Jets hockey I think it is fantastic they don't have any single games like last year on Saturday nights as all games will be available in HD via Bell TV this season unlike last season as many games were on CBC Winnipeg only.

That is a valid point about getting more Jets games in HD and the same goes for the Senators games. Having these two teams play in the afternoon does allow the games to be in HD on HNIC nationally. It is too bad that there are several of those Saturday afternoon games being regional on Sportsnet.
Bell Satellite customers win as they get three CBC HD channels including Montreal. Shaw Cable and some others only get CBC Ottawa and RDS in SD.

Not sure, but I'd be shocked if CBC had cart blanch to do what they like on their split games. They can show the Caps vs. Habs in the Habs local areas, but I bet they don't have the rights to show that nationally or elsewhere. That right there is the value proposition of NHL Centre ice. If folks in Manitoba want to watch other teams fighting for playoff spots, then the NHL would like them to buy Centre ice. If when the games get interesting they start expanding the viewing areas, doesn't likely represent the best business situation for selling centre ice.

The games on HNIC cannot be put on Centre Ice in Canada and the CBC has the right to distribute the games anyway they see fit. There are no restrictions on HNIC games for the CBC and they can show any game nationally.

Are you sure about that? Makes sense for the main games, but I could see a different deal for extra games. Fair point if that's the case though, and I'm sure then they make theirs decisions based up ratings, and I don't doubt for a second the ratings across the rest of Canada will be far better for the Leafs game, but I agree they are making a ratings decision error by not showing the Caps in Manitoba.

The distribution for the 1700h HNIC games for April 27.
Philadelphia at Ottawa is for the Ottawa area only.
Montreal at Toronto is for everywhere else.

Commentators for each series.
Dean Brown and Greg Millen do the Bhawks-Wild series.
Bob Cole, Garry Galley, and Cassie Campbell-Pascall do the Sens-Habs.
Jim Hughson, Craig Simpson, Glenn Healey, and Scott Oake do the Bruins-Leafs.
Mark Lee, Kelly Hrudey, and David Amber do the Kings-Blues.

God, what a sad array of talent. With the exception of perhaps Scott Oake, not a single one of these jokers could get a job at TSN covering the WNBA Draft Lottery.
And of course, I have to listen to that geriatic old coot Bob Cole call the Sens series. I wonder how many more gems like "everything is happening now!" he's got left it the bag.
I can't wait for Stephen Harper to shut down the CBC.
