Icon32 Thanks for being division buddies

I am going to miss playing the Flames as division opponents partly because I love seeing the atmosphere in Calgary - even on my TV - but primarily because I enjoy bantering with you lot.

I'm sorry, for what it's worth, that the Wild hasn't been a more entertaining division foe throughout the years, but hopefully games between our two teams will only get more interesting.

Good luck as your team evolves, and in the new division. I'll continue to look forward to our match-ups and to hanging out here. And I'll get up to Calgary for a game sometime, too.

A few of my strongest memories against the Flames during the Wild's tenure in the NW:

*Iginla's 500th goal.

*The time the Wild was winning 3-0 or 3-1 (in Calgary, to boot) and Stephane Veilleux (of all freakin' people) decided to let Phaneuf kick his butt in a fight, which sparked the Flames who ended up winning the game.

*The Wild clinching their first (and only) NW division title against the Flames, in St. Paul.

Cheers!

Don't feel bad. We also have only one NW Division title. At least the Wild can use the "expansion team" excuse.

It does seem a little unfair that now that the games between these clubs are finally getting more entertaining, they will be fewer and further between. In exchange, we get more games with Phoenix. Yay.

Good riddance. Flames vs. Wild games were by far, the most boring non-eventful hockey I've ever had the misfortune to witness in my 15+ years watching hockey. Literally, preferring to watch paint dry is not far from the more exciting things I could be doing.

This year I decided I'd no longer watch these two teams play. It's not even the Wild that are to blame as I've seen them play other teams and they don't nearly conjure up the sheer amount of mind numbing drudgery that they do when Calgary and Minnesota play each other.

It's good that your city has a hockey team and good you are a fan. But to say I'll miss watching them 6+ times a year would be a damn lie.

"15+ years watching hockey"

Well I guess it's the extra 20 years of watching hockey that I've got on you that kept it from seeming that bad to me. Flames/Wild wasn't pretty, but I suffered through some truly ugly and lean North Stars seasons.

I hope that, in time, you'll heal - emotionally - from this ordeal.

At least we still have Phoenix to bore us to death.

But really it's good to have decent fans of other teams here. Except Vancouver of course because none of them are decent.

They'll be relocated soon enough, and even if it's to Portland/Seattle/somewhere else in the West, at least they'll most likely actually spend money, so games against them won't be horrible for too long IMO.

This is getting eerie. Without Minnesota, our rookies may never score again.

Always welcome nmhen. Thanks for being such a useful contributor.

Went to a Minny game where there were 3 fights, Iggy scored a hat trick, and the Flames won. One of the best games I've been too

But since then I think they have all been pretty boring. Especially when Brent was coaching, those were just hard to watch.
