Just north of Waco. Here go the conspiracy theorists on another bender, bet you anything, considering Friday is the 20th anniversary of the Branch Davidian clusterfook, and with the Boston bombings.
Up to 100 injured, homes on fire as well, apparently, at least according to the TV channel I'm watching. Off to find a link
Multiple people were injured and numerous buildings were damaged in a large explosion at a fertilizer plant near Waco, Texas, according to local authorities and media reports.
Investigators told KFDM-TV of Waco that the explosion, which occurred about 7:50 p.m. (8:50 p.m. ET) at the West Fertilizer plant in the small town of West, about 20 miles north of Waco, destroyed nearby buildings and damaged a nursing home [CNN is quoting Reuters saying the nursing home has collapsed, people likely trapped inside].
West Middle School was among the buildings reported to be on fire, KWTX-TV of Waco reported.
NBC 5 of Dallas quoted witnesses as saying a nearby funeral home and an apartment complex sustained serious damage. It said Interstate 35 was closed in McLennan County. NBC station KCEN of Waco reported that many of the injured were being treated at a nearby community center. There was no immediate word on the severity of their injuries.
Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco issued a call to all staffers to report for work to handle multiple injuries, KWTX reported. Troopers were transporting some victims to hospitals in patrol cars, the Department of Public Safety told the station. A triage area had been established near the scene, but it was moved a short distance away for fear that smoke from the fire might be toxic.
Yeah, it is. My son was watching the news with us and said "April is not a good month to be in the US - seems like so much really crappy stuff happens in April there."

Whoa, I get you want to get the most hits on YouTube. But taking your kid that close to a white hot, flaming plant where they make stuff, that people make building leveling bombs out of? Definitely not parenting 101.
