Awesome! He wanted to beat his brother to the NHL and the Flames rewarded him. Can't wait to see him play.

Certainly can't hurt.
He's a good, smart skater. Would be great if he could be a future 3rd line defensive centre for us in the future.

Plus he gets to play his first NHL game in front of friends and family, couldn't get much better for him. Would be ecstatic if he could score in his first game!

I'm all about giving the youth a chance but does 4 points in 31 games really warrant a chance in the big leagues?

I don't think that's his role on the Heat.

5 points in his last 7 does.
Not sure what to expect, but it will be something to watch for in the next game at least.

What's the scouting report on him? I've never really followed his career.

21 points in 67 games on one of the worst offensive teams where veterans get most of the ice time.
My guess is that he'd be closer to 0.5 points/game elsewhere.

I think this means we are now starting the auditioning. Hartley didn't get much of a camp, so this gives him a bit of head start for next season.
And if there was ever any question that an organized tanking wasn't in progress, this about seals it.
