Nice to see the Jays escape Verlander this time around... would be nice to get 2 of 3 here, and get that winning culture kickstarted.

Looking forward to seeing Bautista in the line-up again. The Jays are going to need their bats in this series.

I know it's early and they'll get it together at some point, but man, it's been a frustrating start to the season, especially since starting pitching has been the biggest issue.

I know it's early but this is just brutal to watch. Zero plate discipline, tons of strike outs, Bonifacio/Encarnacion have been terrible. The only positive is Reyes.

With the exception of the Happ game every single opposing starting pitcher has out pitched our starter.

Ugly. Kind of shocking with Morrow on the mound they needed the last Tiger batter of the 8th to record the team's first K of the day. They need a pitcher to come in and throw a beauty to kickstart the team. I thought Happ's game would have done that but apparently not.

Have to wonder if there is a little bit of that "losing players from losing teams bring a losing mentality" theory going on here.
Players from the Mets and Marlins are not exactly bringing in confidence and a winning culture.

Your 3-4-5 hitters going 0-12 generally means your team isn't going to win. Perhaps hit for contact not try to go yard every AB.

Well, Jose Reyes has been their best player by a mile so I don't buy that. Hard to ask him to do anything more than what he's done so far.
The middle of their lineup so far has been sorely lacking, further evidenced in today's loss where Detroit's 3/4 hitters absolutely destroyed in comparison.
Too many K's in this lineup right now and not making it hard enough on opposing pitching.

They'll get rolling sooner or later - it's just a matter of time. The starting pitching has been horrible thus far, but there are too many good arms for them to stay down for too long. I do agree, the middle of the lineup has been horrible - and I feel that the return of Lawrie is the kick in the rear that this club is needing.

No, it's due to the hype. Baseball is 95% in between the ears. When a whole country's fans and media are busy planning the World Series parade in your honor all offseason, I imagine it can be harder to getting down to the business of preparing for games.

Going to get ugly if they don't get their act together. From hype galore to disbelief. They not only lose but look inept as they do so.

2-5 isn't the end of the world. The LA Angels have 2 wins, and the freaking Rockies are 5-2. This sucks right now but it's so early.

A lot more panic when the team is 2-5 to start the season as opposed to going on a 2-5 stretch in the middle of June.
I am sure the Jays will be fine though.
