Default South Beach, Miami

I'm going down there with a buddy for 5 days next week and staying at a hostel. I've never been there before, and thought the route of the hostel would be a little more fun. Anyway, has anyone been there and what would you say are can't miss things to do? Any particular advice, especially on the nightlife?

Go to Versailles for Cuban food. It is a must.
Big Pink is a fun diner type place that serves food in TV trays. Hangover food?
Taverna Opa is a lively place that will smash plates and dance on tables. I hope you like Ouzo.
Nikki Beach Club is one of the biggest and flashiest hot spots, especially if you're looking for ladies (barely clothed). Part of the club is outside on the sand. Very South Beach.
Cameo is a top notch club. LIV is also a great vegas style club. Mansion is good but impossible to get into.
Vizcaya is a beautiful villa style museum and gardens if you're looking to do something in the daytime. The Venetian Pool is another pretty spot.
If you just want to walk around, Lincoln Road is good for shopping. Ocean drive has a lot of popular restaurants and bars, one of which is Mango Tropical Cafe which is pretty fun and crazy and very "Miami".

Thanks man. When I went to Calgary there was this late night Chinese restaurant which had the same vibe, and the dancing on the tables came outta nowhere. Had a fun time there. Are a lot of the clubs really difficult to get into with the usual "style" dresscode and whatnot? We're staying at the Miami International Travellers Hostel, which for the most part got good reviews, but better yet, has a party vibe and organizes daily pub crawls for ~$15. In fact one publication rated it among the 10 best party hostels in the world. I'm also not renting a car, so having these places to visit on the strip come in handy. I don't like getting caught up in tourist traps though, so your advice will definitely come in handy.

Yeah, most of it is 2nd hand from my wife who grew up there. Bear in mind that we haven't been there for a while, so things may have changed a little.

Another vote for Nikki Beach. The scenery cannot be beat.

There's a bar called the Birdcage, highly recommended.

What kind of travel thread is this. There not yet one post about how the selected destination sucks, and that the OP should go to another destination.......

Go to Mac's Deuce for the 8am-8pm happy hour. It's one of the finest dive bars in the world during the day, but can be hit or miss at night. Also, if you get sick of buying ridiculously overpriced drinks at the other South Beach spots, hit up the waterfront VFW to meet some real characters while downing $2 beers.

Of course the women are really hot but I know I have reached that age when I look at these people and think, there is not a single person there that I would even want to talk to. I don't know why but it seems like every guy looked like a DB too.
Looks like the kinda place where all the girls take duck face pics and the guys all have skinny calves cause they only do upper body.
