Just looked at my gas bill for this month and thought it looked high. After looking at the details of the bill, it looks like they've charged me AGAIN for the period from May 4 to Jul 7, but haven't charged me for Jul 7 to Aug x. Comparing the amounts against past bills, they've even changed the amount of gas that I supposedly consumed.

Anyone have this kind of a problem? I'll be calling them tomorrow to see what's up (their customer service isn't open on Sundays).

For anyone wondering what was going on, it appears that Direct Energy was doing a bunch of corrections to amounts from previous months. There should have been a bunch of credits and new charges but my bill was wrong. There's a new bill in the mail, supposedly.

Interesting that they couldn't get it right the first time though...

The rate for May was $5.35. That jumped 50% in June to $8.31. The current rate per GJ in August should be close to $6.80.

As for getting charged twice for the same usage, that's odd. Good thing you are getting a new bill in the mail, hopefully for less.
