an Jose Sharks forward Ryane Clowe could be a Philadelphia Flyer by the end of the day Monday, sources say. Clowe, 30, is in the final year of a deal that pays him a pro-rated $3.625 million this season. He is due to become an unrestricted free agent in July.
Media reports have indicated the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers have expressed interest in Clowe, but sources say the Flyers have jumped in the mix and a deal sending the big winger to Philadelphia is all but done.
The Fermeuse-born, Mount Pearl-raised Clowe and the Flyers have already worked out a new multi-year contract, another source said.
