Default Will Iginla wear the flaming C again

Seems to be a theme running through all the threads. Will he or won't he be back?

The fact that the flames let Iginla orchestrate this deal lends me to think he will be back, also since his destination is the pens, slim chance of him re-signing. Add in the young family which isn't likely going to uproot to Pittsburg for this rental season, and the possibility looks promising.

I like Iggy back in a different role (no longer having to carry the team)

Of course the blinders could be fully on...as that is the fairy tale ending...

A poll would be interesting.

Everybody comes back to the Flames eventually. If he doesn't come back to play here I could easily see him in a front office job when he retires.

highly doubt it will be this coming October; maybe at the end of his career, in 4 or so years

Jay said they wouldn't be able to give him the term or dollars he'd likely command on the open market. The Conn Smythe Trophy winner will be very expensive

when they retire him. I hope this team rebuilds with young players and moves forward, looking back and getting older players would me a bad move in my eyes.

I think the next time we see anything related to Iginla in a Flames jersey is when they retire his number and raise it to the rafters.

Was thinking about this last night. If Iggy wins a cup I think he looks at his family first, if he doesn't want to uproot them he comes back and takes a home town discount.

I could see him returning if he wins a cup early. In a couple of years, after he's accomplished all that there is to accomplish, I'd love to see him back to mentor the young guns, a la Dave Lowry.

No. The ship has sailed. Once Iginla gets a taste of playing in the playoffs with Crosby and Malkin in a decent city for his family to live do you really think he's going to come back to the ashes and rubble right now that is the Calgary Flames?

The break has been made. To reverse it now would be awfully stupid. So yeah he is likely back.

In 2 years is my guess. I would be rather shocked if he came back this summer.

I hope so, I really do. Ideally, he'll win the cup this year and be back next season.

Let's sign him for one year contracts every year, and trade him for a first and prospects at every deadline. He gets to spend most of the year in Calgary, and play on a contender every year. We all win!

Maybe in his final year of hockey.

Anybody that thinks he will be back this summer, after he wins the cup, is living in fantasyland.

Next season, with the Flames dominating the league, he'll demand a trade back here.
