I can't be the only one around here who doesn't want to see the captain go. Show some support and let's keep #12 here, I personally hope he retires as a Flame. Iggy please stay!

I don't think he will waive his NTC. He finishes out his contract and holds the Flames feet to the fire as a UFA.

Only way it works is if Iginla Signs a home town extension at 2.5 Million or less...

I don't want to see him go either, but it's time. Every other year I never believed he'd leave, but with the team being a bottom feeder, and Iggy being a pending UFA I can't see him wanting to stay here anymore. The mere fact that the Flames refuse to comment on the situation speaks volumes.

It's his decision, if he wants to go elsewhere and have a chance - we'll all cheer him on and pray like hell whatever return we get sows oats at some point. Can we please not fata up his jersey retirement when he does hang em up?

I want him to win a cup and that ain't happening in Calgary. Rather see him go now than during the off season for nothin.

Just because Iggy gets traded, doesn't mean he can't come back if he really wants to.

We need to turn the page and go in a new direction. Keeping Iginla will do nothing but keep us in mediocrity for longer. New blood is needed.

I will always be thankful for everything he has done here, but we need a fresh start.

It's not about that at this point. The Flames need solid prospects moving forward and an Iginla trade can bring those. Oh, and to offer 2.5 or less would be an insult to him.

Love Iggy and what he has done for the franchise but as the saying goes...If you love it set it free....if it comes back...

Sorry to all of CP for the cheese statement above.

hate to see him go but I think it would be better for him and the Flames. Depends on his own desire to be competitive, this team is not that and he won't win a cup here. It was good while it lasted but it's for him to move on.

Perfect situation, we trade Iggy now, he wins a cup this year and resigns a very nice home town discount to finish his career in Calgary during the offseason. Longshot and is very unlikely but stranger things have happened. Despite the fact that I would be incredibly sad to see him go, this team has to stop living in the past. It's time to move him, weather or not he ever wears a Flames uniform again.

I agree it's time on the other hand I will be happy to actually have a team to cheer for come playoffs, instead of just picking whichever team eliminates the canucks..... unless he goes to the canucks....
