Seems like a slight overpayment for the first year or two but could be a good deal towards the 2nd half of the deal. He's on pace for a 24 goal season (pro-rated to 82 games) currently and had 60 pts last year.

Not a bad player for someone Montreal was able to sign out of college, without having to trade players, or use a draft pick on.
I love the second line they got going out there in Montreal (Pacioretty/Desharnais/Gallagher). Sadly Montreal might be a very good team going forward with Subban hitting his stride and with Galchenyuk likely becoming a great player.
Not a bad deal. Desharnais has played well so far and is young and can develop with the young core they have in Montreal with Price, Pacioretty, Galchenyuk and Subban.
