Default Anything special for kids to see/do at the dome for Flames games?

Going to take our 6 year old to his first flames game tomorrow. He's pretty exited about it. Just wondering if there is anything special for the kids to see/do either before the game or even between intermissions? IE if we arrive early can we catch a pre-game skate or anything? Any way to meet Harvey? Anything else like this?

Just curious. If not no big deal but figure might as well max out the fun he has at his first game.

Thanks guys/gals.

wait four more years and you can both enjoy the fire on ice girls.

you could try getting there early for the pre-game and sit close to the glass.

Bring lots of money, my son can seemingly eat three or four times his normal amount of food when we are at the dome

Not sure exactly how long before the game they open the doors, but you can definitely go for the pre-game skate.

As for intermissions, he can watch your coat while you go for beers.

Tell him to chase down Harvey and punch him in the nards as hard as he can/ Mascots love that.

The Dome isn't a kid friendly place. Ice cream is the only special thing I can think of.

Get down behind the benches for pregame warm up. If he is by the rail he can get an autograph after the skate. As of late I think Glencross is the only one signing anything. Iggy and Conroy used to do it all the time back in the day.

Unfortunately there is nothing good to see at the Dome, especially the team playing in red...

I think you need to take them to Edmonton sadly...I hear they're building something special up there.

Get him started early on heroin beer. Building tolerance now means achieving success later.

Pre game warmups are about 40 minutes before puckdrop (6:20pm for a 7pm game). Head down as close as you want and take an empty seat. Your 6 year old can stand up against the glass (adults are too big and block everyone else's view. I see the usher ask adults to move all the time.). If a person shows up with tickets for the seats you are sitting in you will need to move. This doesn't happen a lot, the regulars in those seats know to wait till after warmups to show up at their seats.

If you do want autographs. Wait till after the game and head to where the players leave the parking lot on the east side of the Dome. Random players will pull over to sign if people are waiting. It may be too late for your 6 year old with the late puck drop though.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sounds like nothing too big. Might try to go early so he can get up close for the skate. I'm sure he'd love to see that.

Not looking forward to a cranky sleep deprived kid tomorrow but should be a fun time tonight. Lets hope the flames can light it up at least for tonight..

The Flames don't want kids at their games. They don't drink any $8 beer.

This might be a stupid question but are the beer the same price at a Hitmen and Flames game?

Yes they are. The lineups aren't that long (obvious observation is obvious).
