Puke Perry should have gotten 40 games. I would quit cheering for the Flames if either him or Cooke wears our jersey.

These head shots have got to stop.
The NHL needs to make a new policy. Any player who targets another players head gets:
 a) Minimum 20 game suspension.
 b) Suspended for the same length that the other player is out with injury to a maximum of 2 years.
 Whichever is longer.

Are you serious? Glad your not running our team then. Perry is exactly what the Flames have been looking for for years, a guy that every other team in the league hates playing against. Hes got size, grit and obviously is a scoring machine. Dirty hit none the less but still.

Perry had a lot of time to target Zucker's chest or shoulder, but instead targeted the head and actually went up with the hit. Garbage play.
Should have received at least 10 games, but the NHL is too light again with a suspension. Nothing shocking.

Did you cheer for the Flames when Bertuzzi or Marchment played for the team?

Yeah. You are right. I screwed my chances of becoming GM of the Flames by posting that last message. Oh woe is me!

This bothers me these predatory hits to the head that NHL said they were going to punish and really they are not doing much at all. What seems to feel like every incident results a phone call hearing which the players know under the CBA is only going to be a 5 game suspension max.
Where is the deterrent there, no teeth.

I was jumping up and down like we won the cup when Marchment ended his own career by kneeing Allison! Now thats what you call karma.

But Bertuzzi is a lot cleaner player than Puke Perry.

Also the only time i ever cheered for a player injury was when Marchment got knocked into a half open penalty box and starting seizing up on the ice!

If the NHL and the NHLPA truly want to put an end to this kind of crap then it should be 10 games minimum.

Calm down. I'm not sure how you can argue that, every GM in the league would love Perry on their team.

Sucks especially bad when the victim is a rookie with a whole career ahead of him. If this screws up his career like Hatcher's elbow to Lombardi, it'll be a real shame.
If I were the victim like that and lost so much from earnings, I think I'd see if I could sue.

Remember that anything more than 5 games now goes to an independent review. Nothing short of manslaughter on ice will recieved more than 5. In that sense I guess, the egregiousness(is that even a word?) is about a 4/5.

Perry loses $115,000 during his suspension. Hefty chunk of change.
