Default We finally have a Meaningful Battle of Alberta

Seeing as it looks like both teams will be in a dogfight until the end of season we may as well have fun with it. Sadly the dogfight more than likely could be for first overall pick.
As an oiler fan I have no faith Tambellini or Lowe will do anything to improve their team and it seems Feaster isn't much better as this race for bottom of he league is heating up.

Oiler fans got used to cheering for losses, now it looks like many flames fans are accepting of it needing to be done to improve.

Good luck to both teams in this epic battle for 1st pick overall! Alberta hockey fans just love to see such brutal hockey.

By suggesting we should compete with Edmonton to see who the biggest loser is, you just made me want to cheer for the Flames to make irrational short-term fixes.

Yay. Just lovely being a hockey fan in Alberta. Two franchises that are absolute jokes.

Yes, just look at how much the Oilers have improved and accomplished through years and years of losing.

I don't know how a fan of a hockey team can say they cheered for losses. The last 6 years of oilers hockey has made me want to puke.

I think Florida has last wrapped up anyway.

I'm sorry but none of us are enjoying this brutal hockey. The only reason a lot of people are hoping for loses (I'm not one of those people) is because they want the management to wake up and realize this team is not good enough and for them to start looking toward the future. If anybody on here is actually enjoying that we suck should not call themselves fans.

All those #1 pics and still bottom feeders. I'd be embarrassed to be an Oilers fan right now.

We don't have Kevin Lowe in our organisation to screw things up.

If I were at all inclined to cheer for a loss, it would be exclusively because I would want this current management regime to be flushed.

To hope to lose to draft 1 guy? Thats insane. Very seldom is any 1 player worth that much.

We haven't started a rebuild but somehow you know what the outcome will be. You're right, I should check my crystall ball to see what's going to happen in the future. Maybe it will tell me the weekends winning 6/49 numbers.

Who is to say Feaster is any better? He has assembled a pretty Oilersesque team that seems like its made for the Eastern conference. He was rumored to be after Ryan Smith then the the deal got nixed. He tried to trade our likely top 5 pick for an over paid second line center and claimed he was a franchise center and could of lost out pick for nothing. I don't have much confidence in our scouting or hockey ops team after fiascoes like that. If Jank busts we look like freaking morons as well drafting some guy out of high school. We aren't exactly sitting pretty here with our hockey ops either.

Most of his big moves have been re-aquiring former Sutter players as if he doesn't have any clues of his own and when he does they seem insane.

All I was implying was that aside from all the puppets in the GM position our ownership appears to be way worse than Kevin Lowe

I propose that the Flames, Oilers and Islanders be moved to their own, special conference, and that one of the three be guaranteed a spot in the final 4. After all, affirmative action has been successful everywhere else.
