Anyone on this board in the Washington DC area?
Just landed a great job, so I'm moving there in about a week. I know officially 0 people in the area. If anyone lives there or has in the past I'd love some tips on good places (sports bars?) to watch a hockey game!
Here's to hoping the flames have a road game against the caps this year

I know of 2.
I believe one of the Kobasew nicknamed guys is in Baltimore, and I think Nick Foitu lives in the D.C. area/.

I live in Richmond, VA. About an hour and a half drive from DC. There are 3 Flames fans here I know of: Me, a friend of mine from Calgary who I found a job for, and some guy who lives a few blocks from me that drives a jeep with a dog kennel in the back that has a Calgary Flames licence plate on it.
I've only been to Washington 3 times. Twice for Flames games, and once for a touristy day. Don't know of anywhere to watch hockey there or anything. Be sure to get the center ice package from any cable or satellite provider and you'll get most Calgary games.
I met up with the Kobasew7 poster last time the Flames played there.
We'll have to have a calgarypuck section if they come this year!

What type of job?
If it's surveillance for some guy named Amaso Nib Nedal then I would think twice.

Congrats on the new job!
Totally unrelated, but I was on a train in Sweden a little over a week ago and some Swedish girl approached me because of my Flames hat and told me her boyfriend has been a diehard Flames fan since the 80's, listening to every game over the internet these past few years. (I asked and she didn't think he knew of this website, but I gave her the address.)
Moral of the story, there are Flames fans everywhere! Sometimes you just have to dig to find them. Wear a Flames hat and maybe they will approach you!

Guys, when I stood in that lineup to get into Game 6 of the Finals against Tampa, there was a guy standing right next to me who flew in from Washington, DC to be at the game. I have no idea what his name was or if he posts on here, but I know I met a DC native Flame Fan and I didn't even have to go to the US for it to happen so they gotta be out there.
