Not sure if anybody saw it, it was on CBC and Newsworld, just basically an insight look at all the US stations but mostly Fox. There was also a documentry put up on the fox nextwork, titled "outfoxed" that just puts the network down the crapper. We get to see Bill O'Reilly in his true colors, what an absolute joke this guy is. If anyone ever saw the Jeremy Glick interview, you can see how low this guy truly is.
Was very taken back by the whole thing just wanted to know if anybody else catched it or had an opinon on the whole network itself?

I just find it funny that the CBC would put up a documentary accusing another network of bias.
The only thing the CBC is good for is football and hockey, the rest is a waste of my tax dollars

Yeah, but they are shortened Simpsons episodes... they cut like 30 seconds out of each episode to make it fit the time slot.

Was actually going to start a thread about the Fox News channel.
I have Bell Expressvu, and right now there is a free preview of the channel. Been on a a few weeks now.
Personally, just seems like a bit of a slimy channel. Can't recall the guy who was filling in for O'Reilly the other day, but the guy came off as a bit of an arrogant jerk. Kinda rude to the girl he was interviewing from Aruba.
Just seems like every time I flip there, they are showing something bad going on in the world........and I'm talking pre-London attacks. Spend a ton of time talking about the missing girl in Aruba (which I understand is huge news in the States, and I'm not saying they shouldn't talk about it). Just seems like every time I go there, they're either talking about a murder, terrorism, or slamming somebody or someone for something.
I find it just to be a very depressing channel to watch.
I fully understand most of the news today is quite depressing, but can't they find something - anything - a little less depressing to show for a couple of minutes an hour? After London won the bid for the Olympics, they had about a 30 second clip, then it was back to more muerders and terrorism.
Just not for me, I guess.

Outfoxed has been out for a while now. I haven't actually seen it yet though. No real urge to either. It would be like preaching to the choir.

That clip of O'Reilly with Glick really enrages me. Who is O'Reilly to claim, after 5 minutes of talking, that he know's Glick's dad better than Glick himself? What a clown.
Fox News is nothing more than propoganda in my eyes...

they had one of O' Dumbasses number one supporters on, and Mansbridge got to her interview her on the CBC special, absolutley hilarious!
The girl talked about how Canada was the first to help America in Vietnam, and then peter nicely reminded her Canada was not side by side with American in Vietnam. Girl laughed at Peter and found it hilarious, stating She's pretty sure she knows what shes talking about.

We talked about this before.
There were actually more Canadian's that volunteered to serve in Vietnam with the U.S. forces there, then American draft dodgers who came to Canada, which numbered 30,000.
So even though the government didn't sanction the war, there was a strong Canadian precence there.
The woman that you were talking about was Ann Coulter, resident nut bag. However to discount the Canadian involvement in Vietnam is to discount the Canadian's that served there.

O I totally understand the history behind it and the statistics that go with it. I was just stating how funny it was to see this girl try and get accross what she thought was 100% true

She wouldn't be the first person on television to do that. Loudmouth nutbags come in all shapes, sizes, colors and political affiliations.

OKay, so I'm not a Degrassi Junior High fan either, but would you rather get the news from CNN?

It isn't FOX's bias that bothers me, it's just the sensationalism. Take Ann Coulter for example. She isn't on there because she has intelligent opinion that provoke debate. She is on there because she p*sses people off. FOX is more entertainment than news.
CBC has bias, but it is not sensational or begging for ratings like FOX is.

I don't get my news from CNN or from fox, I usually watch the BBC which in terms of balance is pretty fair.
