Taylor is a first save goalie who tries to direct the puck to the corner. This is not something our d is used to, as Kipper keeps most rebounds in tight.

Once the D seemed to figure that out, the team was better and looked better.

Bottom line is that he won, so keep him in.

The first 2 periods, most of the first shots were bobbled or rebounded directly to the slot area, not the corner.

He was better in the third period.

I like the way the lines were set up with a player with some size and strength on each line. Otherwise I'd like to see McGrattan and Jackman in the lineup at the same time for some old time hockey.

oh yeah, maybe Taylor might be in our future plans, he looked okay.

Surprised Taylor as 3rd Star.

He was awful out there and lucky the defense saved his ass so many times.

His rebound control was brutal and inability to catch a puck is concerning.

I would hope that is his last game and either Irving is brought up or Kipper comes back.

I don't know where to bring this up, but since Bingo touched on this topic, I'll add to it a bit.

I am really worried that the flames are going to get creamed when they run out of these odd scheduling breaks and have to deal with a tough stretch. Seems like almost all teams but them have already found thier legs with a tougher sked - but maybe all of this is just my perception

Yeah he looked scrambly at times but he was okay at covering up in the goal mouth. All he had to be was be better than bongo and he was. I was feeling confident with him and the players probably felt the same.

Interesting stat, only Stajan and Stempniak are plus players. There are a couple of 0's and everyone else is a hard minus.

Stajan has come such a long way from Sutter's doghouse. Been great out there...now if he could just bury some of those chances...

Bouwmeester, Stempniak and Stajan have easily been the top players this season.

Come on moon, Irving wasn't the picture of composure in all his games.

Taylor outplayed Loungo tonight, give him some credit!!

Pretty harsh on a guy that that was as good as he needed to be to get the win.

I haven't seen a functional difference between Irving and Taylor for much of it. They both seem to lose their setting after the first shot. Both had one really shaky game and have looked good for brief periods.

I'd be find with Irving up though.

That extends a long way too. People were all over Irving in the 7-4 win, which was "as good as he needed to be". I don't get why people can't be on Taylor.

Taylor doesn't look nearly as nervous to me as Irving did. His rebound control needs some work, but he hasn't played a lot lately and it did improve in the third. I think he's a much better puck handler as well (gaffe tonight aside), which can be a real asset to have in a goalie.

They are both good puckhandlers...IMO, Irving has the edge.
