He wants Iginla but doesn't think the Flyers will need to give up Schenn or Couturier..
I would want a minimum of:
Wayne Simmonds
Scott Laughton

I think the market value would be a first round pick and a top-six roster player.

Maybe Krug or Khokhlachev + 1st + Campbell for Iginla?

flames should ask for their first, their second, and a good prospect (not blue chip, but a decent one) flames need futures, not middling roster players.
No interest in roster players, nor would they teams want to give them up - as they are loading up for a playoff run.

I assume you mean Boston as Philly is in as much of a dogfight for a playoff spot as Calgary!

They could afford to do that with the emergence of Matt Read so their top 2 right wingers going forward after renting Iggy would be Voracek/Read. I think that would be quite the return though if Feaster could get that for Iggy right now, if he could get a deal like that I hope Jay does the right think and goes for it. Not sure how that would work out dollar wise though for Philly, if they would be able to do it or not.

I also like how there is a value assigned to Iginla out there in the league that is greater than what all the haters around here think.

100% agree with not asking for a roster player UNLESS the other team offers one they have to get rid of. If the Flyers needed to get rid of a contract, we should offer to take it and up the price.
For example, Iggy for 3 picks and a prospect turns into Iggy for 3 picks, a prospect, and if they had to get rid of Knuble or someone than they'd have to throw in an extra second rounder. Something like that.

If we can get what the Blues got, trading a 34 yr old Tkachuk that would be amazing.
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the team has traded forward Keith Tkachuk to the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for a first round draft choice in 2007, a third round draft choice in 2007, a second round draft choice in 2008 and forward Glen Metropolit.
In addition, if Atlanta re-signs Tkachuk, the Blues will acquire a first round draft choice in 2008

Pronger was traded for (IIRC) Joffrey Lupul, Luca Sbisa, and two first rounders.
That was a bit of an overpayment in my opinion, but it shows the upper end of what a proven impact player can return, even late in his career.
I'd like to see something like the Tkachuk deal though, with Iggy coming back to Calgary.

Time will tell. We all know that the deadline like July 1st is a silly time for GM's so if Jarome was willing to move and put on the market by the Flames there may be an arms race in the Eastern conference with teams like the Bruins, Penguins, even Rangers bidding against each other. If Feaster plays it right the return could be solid.

That 1st round choice turned into Calgary's too because we traded down. It that 07 first rounder ended up being Backlund (The Blues took Ian Cole with the Flames 1st they traded up for)
If you look at it in the end the deal was:
Tkachuk
for
Metropolit (Gave them 20 games and 5 points)
Backlund (Turned into Cole for them but the pick in the trade selected Backlund)
Brett Sonne (World Juniors Gold medalist, career AHLer with 3rd line #'s, hasn't played a NHL game yet)
Philip McRae (Scored his first and only career goal against Miikka Kiprusoff and the Flames, big surprise there eh)
Not incredible value when you look at it. It boils down to how we draft if we look at getting picks for our big name guys if we do indeed start clearing the shelves.

Am I the only one who would want a young guy like Simmonds or a prospect that has already been drafted and shown some promise over picks.
I don't know, I just think picks are too risky, especially the way our drafting record has been for the past many years.

To be honest, I don't think they will even do Schenn for Iggy.. Even though it would be some kind of a move if it does happen. It will basically be the whole Iginla trade all over again as we get a future franchise player and give up our most valued piece.
Brayden Schenn for Jarome Iginla
