Default Lent

For those of you that recognize lent, what are you giving up.

I am going to give up coke and potato chips.

I have a buddy that claims he's giving up church for lent.

My wife is giving up chocolate, but the closer we get the more specific it becomes - chocolate becomes chocolate bars, becomes hersheys, etc

I should give up diet coke, but I still have an hour to come up with an alternative.

Lent is hardly a religious thing anymore. People do it just because, as a trendy thing to do. And it's always something silly and frivolous like junk food or Facebook.

I'm giving up pancakes. I eat pancakes usually twice a week or so. I'm also using Lent as a push to get back on plan with Weight Watchers so I can start losing weight again.

Agree! Blame the hipsters!

I will be practicing lent like I will do with Valentine's Day, Yom Kippur or Ramandan - in sweatpants and maybe a generous bucket of fried chicken.

I'll be telling everyone at work that I'm giving up baked goods/sweets for Lent. I actually just need to diet to drop a few pounds, but I feel too feminine telling coworkers that I can't have any birthday cake or cookies because I'm watching my figure. Lent is a much better excuse.
