Default Sub forum for DIY / Renos

I've noticed that more and more people are posting questions or suggestions on DIY projects and renovations (hardwood floors, sinks, etc). I even had some questions about some plumbing work I did back in November and December. I think we even have an "On going renos" thread.

Since we have a sub forum for Tech and Entertainment, how about adding one for Renos and DIY (do it yourself)?

Just a suggestion.

I support this initiative but I think there will be some cross talk between this and the power ring for people looking for help/contractors as well.

Like any other subforum, basically it would have to overrun the OT forum for it to warrant it; adding subforums increases organization but decreases traffic (since people don't want to go into every sub-forum), so usually where we split off a topic is when the OT forum is a very significant portion of a single topic.

Sometimes topics flourish for a while but then go back to normal levels, cars was a requested subforum and at the time there was quite a few topics, but there's 0 car related threads on OT at the moment.

Not averse to new subforums, just keep in mind making them reduces eyeballs for a while rather than increasing them so you have to make sure there's a critical mass to make it sustainable.

I would love this idea to come to reality.

It would be like CPs own how to encyclopedia.
