MOSCOW, Russia (Reuters) -- A Russian astrologist who says NASA has altered her horoscope by crashing a spacecraft into a comet is suing the U.S. space agency for damages of $300 million, local media has reported.

NASA should dig through her horoscopes & see if there was ever a horoscope something like this:

New opportunities will arise that will be successful

coinciding with a failure at NASA. Counter sue for $400 million.

So I post this to my co-workers at work as something that's good for the daily laugh, and lo and behold there's someone who, indeed, took it seriously and is sure the astrologist has a case.

Working in a place that is 100% 'science-related' and does not promote science fiction in any way, I question as to why this person works where we work...

...this case is ludicrous in every regard, and to expect $300 million is asinine. And it ruined your horoscope, no less! How this would ever hold up in court is beyond me. And, apparently, some people can't see this.

The problem is that this comet is the size of Manhattan and the thing they crashed into it was a 370kg probe the size of a washing machine.

According to NASA, the comet's trajectory wasn't even dented. The comet will proceed as it has for millions of years and this astrologer has no case.

OH WOW!!! That astologer and many others are going to be p*ssed.

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/...ow/1163067.cms

China plans their own deep impact mission - except that instead of boring a hole into an asteroid/comet to study the history of the early solar system, China's mission is to protect earth from asteroids that would wipe us out ala Armegeddon and Deep Impact (the movie).

So their plan is to get a spacecraft to paste itself into an asteroid, and it's use boosters to change the trajectory of a spatial object! HAHA, NASA's mission didn't move the comet at all, China plans to do the opposite!

That's crazy.

The amount of force required to change the trajectory of an asteroid, probably could only be acheived by a plasma pulse engine, and those are only in development.

I don't know what all the hubbub is about. It would probably burn up in our atmosphere and be no bigger than a chihuaha's head.
