Nice write-up. It looks like you lost a sentence stating that the big hit is from Begin.

I am so impressed with Wideman. I never really watched him before and was excited to get him as another guy on the blueline who could put up points but nervous as everyone seemed to be saying he was a huge defensive liability. I think just the opposite so far. He seems to have a very high intelligence for what is going on out there. I don't remember which wing was coming down on Brodie (Zetterberg?) but he pulled over to help and double team and got the puck off the stick into the corner.

Offensively he is as advertised but taking over Bouwmeester's lead in ice time and playing as smart in his own end has he has been, has been a pleasant surprise.

I thought the Derek Smith "save" hit the crossbar and was coming back to the middle. It was a great play to get it out and not have it bounce in, but I'm not convinced it would have gone in if he wasn't there.

Great write up. Missed the game but not too upset that it resulted in a win. Maybe will have to miss the next one too. As long as it works.

Glad Iggy broke the egg, cammy next. Hope Kipper is OK

I think that was Datsyuk if it was the play I'm thinking of, and it was a great play.

I like how you put the Backlund line as the first line. I agree.

I know he's a warrior but I was surprised Begin did so well against Tootoo. He may end up being a valuable piece of the puzzle.

Great game by all concerned. A real feel good result.

Yeah Begin has been okay for a five minute fourth liner, which is all that he needs to do. Possible even the best one of our players in that category, although it's not such a tough competition this year.

Oh, and thanks for the writeup too

Yeah from the top view it looks like it hit the crossbar and then maybe grazed his stick on the way out. Either way it was a close call.

That Smith play hit the crossbar and he batted it away as it was coming down.

The guys looked solid again the combination of Wideman and J-bo makes me believe theres going to be alot of points accumulated from the back end this year .

Tanguay's not getting enough praise for his play. He's looked solid as a 1st line center, at both ends of the ice.

Last night, Cammalleri was playing center in the defensive zone during the second half.

I agree. He had a couple horrible cross-ice-pass turnovers early in the season. And the line got off to a very slow start (obviously). But I think Tanguay has gotten better and better and, after 7 games, I would say he has been really good - probably one of the 4 or 5 best forwards so far.
