In house blood and urine sample??
My wife renewed her life insurance policy through work (they just switched providers) and submitted all forms last month.
Today, she received a call saying that someone from that new company would be coming into our home tomorrow to take a blood and urine sample from her.
I would have assumed that any time someone is drawing blood that it should be in a medical clinic? Is this in house sampling normal?

I've had blood samples taken at home for life insurance before. I think it's common practice.

Yeah, me too. The insurance co has a nurse on staff to do the tests necessary.
Nothing to worry about and actually rather convenient

I've had the samples taken in my home as well. Thankfully, neither came out of me in solid or gaseous form so I was relieved.

In case the other four confirmations weren't enough for you, I too have had a nurse come to my house for blood and urine. This is how it's done, dude.

As stated previously, and as a Life Insurance Broker, this is pretty normal.
The nurses aren't from the insurance company itself but they order
whatever medical underwriting necessary for your policy through a Medical Underwriting company (such as Hooper Holmes or Quality Underwritingif you wanted to look them up).
The underwriting company contracts nurses to set up an appointment to come out to your house to do the testing of Blood, Urine Paremedicals, etc. And report their findings back to the underwritiers at the insurance company.
Alternatively for Calgary, if it was ordered through Quality Underwriting you can pop by their office in south Calgary and get it done their pretty quickly if you ask your Insurance Advisor/Broker/Agent to set it up that way for you.

Even moreso if you already have one waiting for them.

He just left a pair of his underwear.

I've had it done, and I started laughing when they took the temperature of my urine. I was glad I didn't eat asparagus the night before.
