California School Shooting
Just heard about this.
http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/01...fornia-school/
Thankfully nobody was killed. Kudos to the teacher for their actions.

My face is a bum!

Doesn't this belong in the "US School Shooting" sub-forum?

I posted it in the NRA wanting guns in schools thread.
It is so sad that his doesn't surprise me anymore.

What's really sad is that for a second I thought that sub-forum actually existed.

More guns and god would have stopped this.

WEll the NRA will simply come out and say that this wasn't stopped sooner because of the armed guard staying home.
This could have been much much worse, as weird as it sounds this shooter sounded like a angry kid with a revenge fantasy against a individual.
Most of the time these school shooters are bezerkers with no particular target in mind.

Can't say I'm surprised. We really need to start an ongoing US shooting mega thread since this seems to happen on a monthly basis nowadays. Sad...

Officials said there’s usually an armed officer on campus but the person wasn’t there because he was snowed in.

Don't they have a back up "gun guy"?
How can there only be 1, and run the risk of him being snowed in? The NRA will have to come up with another plan for this...
In seriousness, great job by the teacher able to talk him down. Who knows how many lives they just saved.

And if the guy with the gun was there...maybe the kid with the shotgun would be dead instead of the (very fortunate) outcome

Thats a good point. Shoot first and ask questions later.

Or Deputy Mcnob blazes away in a panic or in hero mode, misses the kid and kills two teachers and a few students.

If I wanted to drive to Taft from Los Angeles yesterday I would've been stopped due to snow a half hour in to the drive.

It doesn't take much for the mountain passes. Three inches will close down The Grapevine or at least cause CHP escorts. I think because the trucks are handling the real snow in the mountain communities over 5000ft. Even that's only 90 minutes away from LA.
We have a little bit of everything here. I'm 90 minutes from snow boarding and 30 minutes from surfing.
