Tampa and Columbus hooked up on a deal tonight that sees Highly touted prospect Jacob Trouba head to Tampa. The main piece going the other way is Chris Stewart.

The Deal shakes down like this.

It was a hard deal to make as both teams seem to have buyers remorse on this one... (either that or MJK is full of $hit)

From a Tampa perspective, we wanted to add an elite D prospect as we feel we have some solid forwards coming along nicely in the ECHL. Stewart has consistency issues and Columbus really targeted him hard. Maybe too hard. Like some kind of Spezza like man crush.

I like Trouba but that's a lot to pay for him. MJK really capitalized on value/timing here.

I have always liked Stewart and his value is at an all time low right now, good time to snag him again. Jake McCabe was the captain for the US at the WJC and was great on their backend while Musil is a fairly decent Oilers prospect who we hjave no intention of keeping. Trouba's value is probably at an all time high right now and he won't be a factor in the CPHL for at least 3 years and we don't have patience.

It was a bonus to dump Gomez on TB, thanks sucker.
