Default Very basic computer training

I need a referral for very basic, very beginner computer literacy training for a relative who is in their sixties.

I have tried and others have tried, but i feel there has to be more organization to the program than something off the cuff.

The end game will be a working knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel and Explorer / firefox and eventually an Iphone or a blackberry.

Any referrals? Any person your offices have used that you thought was competant.

Whenever I have a person who comes to me with an issue like this, I normally refer them to Lynda.com.

They have a wide range of stuff, but I wonder if even the beginning stuff might be a bit advanced. There is a free trial for you to see, so you don't need to commit.

My parents, both in their 60's took some continuing education courses at U of C for basic computer training a few years ago. They even offered it in Chinese, which is their native language.

Now they e-mail me from time to time, which is the strangest thing since we've never communicated like that before and their English is, well, passable. They also have Facebook but to date I haven't added them to my friend list.

I bet all the other major institutions such as MRC and SAIT probably offer similar things.

I was just coming to suggest this. Our little library here offers the same type of thing. I keep pushing my in-laws to take these, so I don't constantly get phone calls on how to do this, that or the other thing. They don't even know how to copy/paste and I've frigging written them my own manuals, very detailed, with screen shots, everything. Drives me insane some days.
