JOB OVERVIEW
Suncor Energy's Oil Sands operations team is looking for a continuous improvement coach to significantly impact business results and is an ambitious, motivated and talented leader. This person will be responsible for building improvement capability and supporting the establishment of a culture of continuous improvement.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Coach and/or facilitate diverse CI teams to deliver superior business results in cost, production, safety, environment, and process efficiency and effectiveness
- Implement strategies for improvement across Oil Sands operations
- Support driving the pace and progress of improvement initiatives, and the tracking and communication of results
- Collaborate with leadership, functions, and stakeholders to identify, prioritize, select, plan, and schedule a wide range of operating, technical, and business improvement initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:- University degree in Engineering, Business, or Science
- Five to ten years of work experience in Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Manufacturing, or Consulting
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a continuous improvement role
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership or coaching role
- Formal training in Lean Six-Sigma would be an asset
- Demonstrated track record of delivering significant business results through the application of structured CI methods and tools
Skills and Knowledge:- Strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to effectively and comfortably work with and influence all levels of the organization
- Professionalism, communication style and general demeanor allow the individual to quickly establish credibility and rapport with employees at all levels of the organization. Able to understand the perspectives of others & discern their needs/concerns
- A demonstrated track record of successfully leading and managing others, problem solving and delivering business results in a structured manner
- Understanding of the purpose, application, and limitations of a variety of CI tools and processes in a range of environments (operations, maintenance, projects, business process, office) and the ability to develop this capability in others through training and coaching
- Well organized and process driven with strong analytical and decision making skills and the ability to turn concepts and strategies into a detailed execution plan
- Capable of managing a portfolio of priorities, stakeholders, and competing business opportunities
- High level of project management and change management skills with demonstrated experience
- Have a passion for improvement work and demonstrate an improvement mindset
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is Fort McMurray, office based with periodic travel to Calgary as required
