Refurbished iPod Touch
I was wondering if anyone has had purchased one from the Apple website?
My daughter is looking to get one, and I thinking it might be a cost effective approach for her.
I would love to hear positive and negative experiences.
Cheers

The iPod that I am discussing in this thread is a refurb, and from what I gather was very affordable.
For a kid, I cannot see any reason at all not to get one instead of a new one. Warranty is the same as a new one, and Apple is really good about taking care of any device under warranty.

Thank you for the quick responses.
Does anyone know the reason(s) that these units are usually returned to Apple to get refurbished?

I would assume the usual reason people return them...broken screens, electrical issues, programing glitches

I looked around on the site just a bit, but it appears to be in the 35% range.

I've bought an iPod and a MacBook refurbished from their online store and both were in pristine condition and have been working perfectly for several years. I'd have no hesitation in buying a refurbished product from them again.

At 35% off, I wouldn't even consider a new one.

I've bought numerous refurb'd products through Apple and never had an issue. Highly recommended.

It's worth pointing out, for those who aren't familiar with Apple's refurb program, that the refurbs ship with the same warranty as their brand new counterparts, and qualify for the same AppleCare extended warranty programs as well.

That is a significant savings and with a full warranty it seems like a can't miss deal.
Can you only buy refurb online, or could you go to the apple store

Online only, and the available stock changes fairly frequently so if you don't see what you want, keep checking back on a regular basis.
