I just got back from Race City Speedway where a good friend of mine, Rob Gibney, set a new world record for driving backwards for 1220 laps or a little over 500 miles. He did it in 12 and a bit hrs and crushed the former record by about 1 hr 40 mins. Guiness had a rep there to make sure everything was legit. Rob's average speed was aboout 66 k's per hr (the former record was set at 56k's). Apperently this morning was the most difficult due to the rain with rob spinning out 4 times. There was some ingenious solutions to keep the "line" around the track marked clearly enough so he had a guidline, using paper towels and white paint. It came together thanks to a team effort and helped raise a pretty good chunk'o'cash for STARS Ambulance services.
