I go to Razors Edge in Avenida off Macleod, ask for Johnny, the man's a champ. I live in the NW but I make the drive... it's worth it.

Their was an older thread about this little while back I was just about to post in, but I'll do it here instead.
Out of the places recommended by most at cp I tried 3 of them..
MVP Hair - Cool sports theme, manly place, medicore lookin chicks cutting hair. Cost me $35 including tip for one of the worst cuts I've had. Won't be going there again.
Hedkandi - Decent cut, the fade could of been better but the length and amount of the top was perfect. Was it worth $80? No, I could have gotten the same cut from New West BC for $6.
Best of 7 Barbers - $35 good fade, trim from the top could of been a little bit better. Has great service and would or will go back again.
As for the whole paying more for a stylist idea, it not worth it. You can style it on your own.
I'd recommend Best of Seven Barbers.

I used to not care about my haircuts, but in my old age (38) it's now something that is kind of important to me. I'll pay for a good cut, especially after a number of girls pointed out how my cuts at first choice were always crooked.
That said go to Chrome on 17th and book with Richard. The guy is amazing at what he does. It's $60 and he doesn't do colour, but it's worth it. I actually get compliments from random people when he cuts my hair which is really weird.

Any good places around the NW near beddington and such that is cheaper than what I pay? I currently pay $26 for my haircut but that includes wash and cut. I also prefer not to go to barber shops.

If you live or work downtown, then Great Clips on 8th St and 12th Ave SW is ok, $20 including tips. The hairdressers are hit and miss though. Have had good cuts and not so good ones there...but if you're a regular dude, everything will look the same in two weeks anyways. Best of all, you can just walk-in and its never too crazy busy there.

Just visit all the places around you until you find one where all the barbers are saying "habibi" to each other, and you're likely in fine hands.

Bumping this thread - How often does everyone get a haircut? Usually in the past I'd go a couple months before getting one. Usually when the wings start forming, but recently I've been rocking this new haircut (Jimmy from Boardwalk Empire) and received a lot of complements, and feel that I need to go again 5-6 weeks.
Just curious on how often others frequent the cutters?

I am in the salon and barber industry, as I am a sales rep for Redken. If anyone needs a good salon or barber shop to go to let me know!

There's a guy named Fredy who works at Denim & Smith in Royal Oak. He is, hand down, the best person I've ever had cut my hair and his attention to detail is amazing. I definitely recommend him for sure.

Ive had my hair cut by the same dude for the last 20 or so years. The guy was trained in some London school, and has been running a salon business from his house since then. Even when I lived out of the country, I made sure to schedule a cut with him whenever I was back in town....it beat all the fancypants NYC cuts I used to get by random gay dudes with more flair than talent.
I'm not even sure what he charges to be honest. I usually just give him 30 bucks or so.
