Another of these bizarre eating competitions.

Sonya Thomas, of Alexandria, Va., won $500 and a trophy belt for her efforts, consuming 9.76 pounds of lobster meat.

Thomas was coming off a baked bean victory days before in Indiana, where she consumed 8.4 pounds of beans with pork in 2 minutes and 47 seconds. She also holds records for hard-boiled eggs.

In a moment of revenge for females everywhere, I'm picturing her shoving her hubby's head under the sheets just as she lets go one gigantic gas bomb that rattles windows in a four block radius.

The world? I think you mean the Western World......I don't think obesity is much of a problem in places like Ethiopia.

I just about died, I had an image of some hideously fat woman grabbing her husbands head and showing it under the sheets and shouting gleefully "DUTCH OVEN" before incinerating the poor bugger.

I really wasn't directing this at the women (only 105), but in general. It's contests like these when half an ocean gets eaten in 5 min, or 100 cows are inhaled in 2 1/2 mins. That kind of stuff is sick to me. Are you proud that you can ravage 12 lobsters, or even digest 8.4 pounds of pork and beans? Kinda disturbing to me...I should also rephrase "Americans and Canadian" are wondering why there are massive weight issues.
