The Supreme Court of Canada will hear on Friday the dramatic case of a B.C. father who, for religious reasons, tried to circumcise his four-year-old son on his kitchen floor with a carpet blade and a blood coagulant meant for horses.

This has nothing to do with Darwin. The guy didn't circumcise himself. He disfigured his child.

I hovered my mouse over the thread title. I saw "circumcision case" and I can already see without reading any of the article that a Darwin award is clearly in play.

If I read the whole article, will it explain to me what "religious reasons"compelled him to do it in the kitchen, as opposed to having a doctor or a mohel do it?

So why not have him circumcised in the hospital then? I can't imagine a religious ceremony that takes place at 4 years of age on the kitchen floor.

It wouldn't be a Darwin Award! He did it to someone else!

Yes, it does explain. The boy would have required general anesthetic and physicians deemed him too young for it.

Potentially, it could be. He ensured his offspring can't reproduce.
