Has anyone tried one of these before? Own one? Is it worth it?

My wife and I are thinking of getting one for the Mother in law who is old and horribly out of shape. It looks effective and low impact but I'd like some CP input.

My brother-in-law has one. He bought it for his wife. The feedback he gave me is that it quickly gets old and he wished he would have got another treadmill.

Even if your Mother-in-law is heavy she could incline a treadmill a bit and start walking at a good pace and I bet she would see some good results shortly.

Or you could save some money and just haul her ass outside and get her walking.

Maybe you should just buy her a diet book, and a gym pass/ or tell her to go out more often and stop baking cookies lol, it will cost cheaper in the end... no treadclimber will help

1) SportsJunky mentions this thread to his brother in law.
2) Coys1882 buys the used machine saving a bunch of money.
3) SportsJunky's brother puts money towards buying the treadmill that he wants.
4) I take a measly 10% commision on the transaction

Everyone wins.

Friend of mine bought one a year ago. I tried it out. Overall impression is that it felt very cheaply made. Very short and narrow steps, with such a small walking area you pretty much have stare down at your feet the entire time while you step or you will easily slip, or trip or even fall off. Very noisy. Wouldn't have one in my home if you gave it to me for free.
