Thumbs up Trader Rating or Buyer/Seller feedback

Just wondering if there has ever been any thought into including some sort of rating system for buyers and sellers?

It could be worthwhile, as right now I just use join date and brief post history to determine if the person might be legt

I know that most of the time it's checked, but I don't like to see the seller 'edit' the post of what they are selling, and for how much afterwards.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

We're not primarily a buy/sell forum so putting money (time) into creating and maintaining such a feedback system and all the additional administration that would be incurred (what if someone gives a false negative feedback, or contests a feedback, if a mod doesn't take a bunch of time to dig into the truth the feedback system becomes useless) isn't really something we want to do.

Treat it like kijiji or craigslist or any other buy/sell venue; if you are unsure take precautions. There are other feedback venues (eBay, there's another 3rd party feedback website that I can't remember the name of), or take reasonable precautions when making a deal (use escrow sites, meet in person, test the item before paying etc etc).

What about a sticky with poster's experience buying/selling with other CP members?

What? And take the fun out of meeting a stranger in a Superman hat outside Deerfoot Meadows Best Buy? Never!

What I think could be an easy way to do it, is for the seller to keep links to the original threads stores on a document somewhere on their desktop, and just email the links via PM. If you ask someone for a Thanks! A+ transaction as the last post in the thread, that should be good enough.
