30 Teams in 30 Days - The Zach Parise Story, Day 3: Columbus
Zach Parise came and went, without a hint of him ever being here. The franchise winger has been dealt for the 2nd time in as many days and 3rd in about four or five days. Is it possible for him to be a member of all 30 teams before he returns from injury?
To Clb:
Zach Parise LW, 27y 74ov, $9.00/3y
Bryan Allen D, 31y 67ov, $3.70/1y
Shawn Horcoff C, 33y 65ov, $5.00/1y
To St.L:
Marian Hossa RW, 33y 74ov, $9.99/3y
Brayden Coburn D, 27y 69ov, $5.50/1y
Todd Bertuzzi LW, 37y 65ov, $1.90/3y
2013 2nd (Owing)
This deal was tough to make but basically came down to a few things, I was able to unload two un-gridable UFA's in Allen and Horcoff while getting a slight increase in overall ratings, retaining an elite winger, and picking up a Dman I like even more than Seabrook. Also got my 2nd round pick I traded away yesterday back and don't have to wait two weeks for Parise to play.
I've always liked Hossa, and even though he's starting to get up there in age, he certainly has a few great years left in him, especially in the CPHL. Coburn is likely going to be a top pairing Dman for Philly now, so should get a bump in ratings a bit I would think. Bertuzzi sucks but he's signed cheap for 3 years and as long as he doesn't retire, is a big improvement on Horcoff who I had no plans to re-sign.
All in all, I'm happy with the deal and am surprised MJK was willing to work out something fair for once! Thanks for the talks!
