Default Another Mass Shooting in the US

http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Bro...764/story.html

Just took place in Brookfield, WI and it sounds as though the shooter is still on the loose, and potentially (from speculation I'm watching on CNN right now) holding hostages. 7 people confirmed having been shot at this time.

I will jump in this thread quickly to say thankfully nobody was killed.
Now I will leave even quicker than I came to avoid the inevitable gun law debate that is forthcoming.

Hopefully every patron of the mall was packing, so that this can be resolved as safely and easily as possible.

A casualty doesn't mean a death.

So already the media can't get it right if there are conflicting reports.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/...180854621.html

"Officials initially described a "mass casualty" situation, WISN said, though to this point no fatalities have been confirmed. According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the mall has been placed on lockdown, as has a nearby country club."

Casualties can mean injuries or deaths. But in this case I think they are referring to deaths.

Just another case of media sensationalism. "casualties" drives in more traffic than "injuries". 7 injured. No deaths, yet.
Kind of stupid to post a link to a CNN article after talking about media sensationalism, but whatever...

Mass shootings and suicide shootings, every few days there seems to be another one. Terrifying how often they've become.

Back what up? That they seem to be every few days, or that's it's terrifying how often they've become? Both are subjective statements that don't really need proof.

Give it up, buddy. Just stick to your "I love guns" "Guns aren't the problem" "Guns are the best" "Who said something bad about guns? I'll shoot them for that" threads.

Gotta love the USA. Threaten to make people do something as simple as register their firearms and it's infringing on their rights!

But if you want to limit access to healthcare or keep gay people from getting married, well that's perfectly acceptable.
