Spring Training is on!

How many guys does Sportsnet have down there? I counted 10 already!

Bonafacio/Izturis/Lawrie - 1, 2, 3... Sanchez looked sharp, really pounding the zone.

Morrow looks shaky, season is doomed.

Ya that was a deep fly... I appreciate Fielder as a baseball talent - but the pimp job on your first Spring Training home run has gotta go.

Speaking of smaller - Peralta appears to have dropped a few lbs as well.

Thought Lincoln made some really good pitches to Infante - got squeezed a little at the knees

Adam Lind getting his hands inside the ball - great sign... Man if he can start to produce against rhp, only adds to the danger in the middle of this lineup.

And JPA continues to strike out with RISP - guy has gotta learn to change his approach with 2 strikes

Damn, tuning in only now. Gomes with the HR, and Jays in the lead, but how are each of the guys doing? Are just the fringe guys playing or some of the everyday guys playing?

Don't have Sportnest Ontario...damn, that sucks. Sportsnet West had to cut their broadcast due to the friggin' Oilers/Yotes' game!

Lind/Lawrie/Bonafacio/Izturis/Thole/Gose/Sierra/Arencibia(DH)/Nanita all started the game. I thought Lind look really sharp with two base hits, was able to keeps his hands inside the ball and really hit that ball sharp.

Also was came away impressed with how well Bonafacio was able to handle the bat, hit the ball hard the other way - looks like a little slap hitter, but the guy probably has a little pop behind that bat the other way.

Arencibia looks like the same Arencibia we know - two k's, no approach with two strikes. The more I watch him the more I just wish he'd figure out that you don't need these large hacks with 2 strikes - put the ball in play, things will happen. Struck out at least once with runners at 1st and 3rd and 1 out. Gotta get better or he may see Thole take more playing time away from him other than Dickey's starts.

Sierra flubbed up - getting thrown out at 3rd before Lind crossed the plate, would have made the score 2-1 in favour of Det at that time (2nd inning I believe). Gibbons said winning teams don't make these types of mistakes, and it will be addressed. Sierra though made up for it, a little, absolutely hosing someone trying to go 1st to 3rd on a single. Runner was out by 3 ft.

Gose made a dang beautiful track on a ball hit over his head in the first inning.

Zawadski had a grand slam when I was out feeding cows - didn't see it but sounded like a bomb (over the scoreboard).

Morrow threw the first innng - got roughed up a bit due to a lack of command, leaving balls up in the zone, and getting behind in counts. Had to lay fastballs in w/ 3-1 counts, and Prince absolutely crushed one. Just one inning though, thought Morrow settled down the last two batters he faced.

Delabar/Lincoln - same issues as Morrow - balls up in the zone, fell behind early.

Last note - really like the power arms that are going to be coming out of the pen. Esmil Rogers throws damn hard - looked pretty good for his first outing of the year.

Second last note - Jack Morris is not nearly as good as Alan Ashby at colour commentary.

Very nice! lol. All jokes aside, Granderson is a game changer, and his loss will be huge to the division, to say the least. I wonder if the Yanks fall into a spiral early, if they'll be forced to make a deal?
