So much for the Tigers being the only team with fielding issues.

No shame in losing to Verlander, which was expected, but now the A's have earn the split tomorrow.

Can SF rebound if they lose a game like this?

The Giants are in serious trouble if Cueto can pitch game 3. This is a Giants pitching staff that is not built to win 3 in a row in a ballpark not named A and T Park. Tomorrows game is huge.

Detroit is easily the worst team in the playoffs, in terms of their regular season play but Verlander in a short series could be so deadly. I'm pulling for Oakland, but that offense can go away so quickly, this series could be over just like that.

Have to win game 2. SF was good on the road, and could win twice in Cincy. Probably need a Lincecum or Zito to win a game.

Cincy looks really good - a complete team.

Oakland doesn't seem to have the offensive depth. Even if they get by the tigers I don't see them getting any further. Detroit may have the worst record of a playoff team, but they have the pieces to go on a run.

Obviously the regular season series means nothing but the A's did have a winning record vs the O's this year. I think the O's can knock off the Yankees. If it comes down an Oakland-Baltimore series, I think the A's win.

MadBum should be good at home today. His splits stats home/away shows how much he relies on pitching at home in that very pitcher friendly ballpark. I'm not sure about you, but I'd almost feel more comfortable with Zito over Lincecum. With the 2-3 system now set up, today is a must win for the Giants.

Reds continue to impress, even being from a rather weak division, they're the real deal and Votto is not even at full health.
