JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Power System Technician will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the equipment and protective relaying, metering and communication systems installed on the Transmission & Distribution system at Suncor's Oil Sands facilities based in Fort McMurray, AB
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Perform maintenance, predictive inspections and testing on substation equipment, including power lines
- Perform operational duties on the Transmission & Distribution System
- Develop work scopes, draft procedures, and perform routine repairs
- Update equipment histories and database
- Comply with the Suncor operating and maintenance safe work practices, procedures and standards
- Initiate detailed work notifications and procurement of routine materials
- Conduct tests, analyze the data, report the findings, and recommend follow-up strategies on the Transmission & Distribution equipment
- Provide analytical troubleshooting for emergency outage conditions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:- Valid Power Systems Electrician Journeyperson ticket or Powerline Technician Journeyperson ticket
- 2 Years experience in testing, maintenance and repair of 13.8Kv to 260 kV electrical apparatus
