Default Fancy Pants Restaurant for Anniversary

Need some suggestions fast.
I thought I could get away with deflecting this silly occasion, but the Wizzle is storming her emotional hurricane all over me.

I'll say I want to keep the price for two under $250. Fine Dining'ish is ok, but nothing too fine dining. I'm not that classy, but I can pretend. I just don't care for places that hit you with a dozen forks and knives.

Something like Teatro will do... but not Teatro because we've already been there.

Thanks in advance.

La Chaumiere. If I recall correctly it's their wines that really drive up the prices, their meals are upscale and affordable.

she's prob just upset you've never bought her flowers before. But according to you shouldn't you just ignore the storm like a real man?

Ruth's Chris is nice.

Charcut and Notable are good nice restaurants too but you will need a reso, and don't let them trick you into thinking otherwise or you'll be waiting a ridiculously long time.

Not a fan of Teatro. Rouge in Inglewood. As mentioned above, Notable is good too but gets busy.

I could talk my way out of it, but I'm hungry, so it works out for both of us.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been to a RC's in Mississauga. Gotta love US Prime. Yum.

The Belvedere on Stephen Ave is nice. An amazing wine list.

The Ranche is a nice place.

I would avoid Muse in Kensington.

I see Apple Pie Creme Brulee on their dessert menu.
I think we have a winner.

Thanks you two.

(I will call to see how bad they laugh at me for a reservation tonight, otherwise we'll go tomorrow).

EDIT: Bah... saying this place is busy was an understatement. Not risking a time waste there tonight.

The Ranche looks delicious though and they had space. So a wild game chow down it will be.
Thanks again, all.

Belvedere is pretty fancy pants.

Vero in Kensington or Charcut across from the tower are nice too!

I went to the Vintage Chophouse for my anniversary last night. It was delicious and certainly within your price range. Not super pretentious either...they asked us if we wanted to bring our porterhouse bone home with us.

Have you thought about the basement of chicken on the way?

I'm married and I've never bought my wife a single flower, no birthday card and I've done ziltch for Valentines Day... and I never will. I figure the day I cave in, like a loving pansy, I'll fall into the same category as all the other ##### whipped meatheads out there and I'll be headed for divorce. I love my wife too much to risk it."

Bit of a case of not taking your own advice? Or is an anniversary that much different than a birthday or valentines?

Nice work, detective.

She gets Year 1.
I can't win them all... try as I might.

She gets her Birthdays... just no card. I don't do cards, flowers or anything else that gets tossed in a waste bin after 5 days.

+1 on The Eden.

8 years later and my wife still talks about the night we ate there.
