Downgrading a soon to be UFA slightly for a pair of guys that are under contracts for next year help fill a couple roster spots next year while not breaking the bank. Also fill my 6th D-man spot more credibly making Prosser a 7th guy instead of a regular.

Having depth also helps as I move from having 64 and 63 OV centers to having a pair of 63 OV centers instead now that I'll move Hecht over to C.

Upgrade my 3rd and 4th lines with this deal. Also now opens up a roster spot on D to call up Jay Harrison from the farm. Harrison a 3 point upgrade (63) from Methot (60)

Deryk Engelland (62) was a nice surprise to find still looking for work. Got him the other day though so I can't really say he will be missed.

Also signed Nate Schmidt and Mat Bodie to fill a pair of D spots on the farm. Both are college seniors and two of the top D available in the NCAA.
