Pepsi Throwback
Has anyone heard if this stuff will be kept permanently in Pepsi's product line? I'm having a hard time finding this, I prefer it much better than regular Pepsi.
I found an article saying it was being launched in Canada for 8 weeks, but that article was from January.

I find it on and off at Safeways, their manager says they have a tough time keeping it in stock.

I've seen it still in Safeways.
Can we make this a general "why do drinks appear and disappear" and "why do they have better selection of diet soda" thread?
Brisk came out with a zero calorie iced tea that was awesome, but slowly it disappeared from every store and now I can't find 1L bottles of it anywhere.
Heck even Coke Zero 1L is getting harder to find.
I've talked to convenience store owners but they don't even answer the question.. I mean surely you didn't need to stop carrying zero calorie Brisk 1L so you can have 10 rows of Coke 1L instead of 9??
EDIT: Or the zero calorie Jones sodas, there's like one 7-11 I know of that carries them.

I thought Pepsi Throwback was just the old school can graphics? It doesn't say anything on the case about tasting different. Anyways, there were 100+ cases in a big display at the Walmart here in Lethbridge last night.

I picked up a case of Pepsi Throwback on sale at Zellers a few weeks ago.
And on the case it does say "Made with real sugar", so it isn't just graphics.

Pepsi Throwback uses cane sugar instead of corn syrup.

Just a matter of getting used to it. I still taste it with some sodas, but diet A&W and Coke Zero taste normal to me now. Normal Coke makes me gag now.
Oh and the other diet soda I found in the US, you know those root beer in the glass bottles some stores have (can't remember the name, they have root beer and cream soda, and ginger soda), they had diet in the US, and it was awesome.

Pepsi made with sugar as opposed to High Fructose Corn Syrop; or Sucrose/Fructose as it's called here in Canada. Huge difference in how your body processes the different kinds of sugars.
As for the taste- I would say it doesn't taste as "sticky"; if that makes any sense. I'm a Coke drinker, but I have switched to Pepsi Throwback.
And if you go to the States, they also have Throwback Mountain Dew.
I emailed Coke a couple of weeks ago; they make a Coke product with real sugar for Passover in Jewish markets. I was asking if they considered following Pepsi's lead in making this available everywhere all the time. No reply of course.

I though Pepsi throwback was a limited time thing that was taken off the shelves a couple of weeks ago.
Too bad, it tasted much better. Coke is still better, but would be even better with real sugar as well.

i had a Coke in a classic tall bottle made with real sugar in the Coca-Cola store in Las Vegas, and it was by far the best soft drink i've ever tasted. Pepsi Throwback is nice and the best commercially available stuff, but nothing will ever beat a classic Coke out of a glass bottle

I actually can't stand coke here. Make that stuff with real sugar and throw it in a glass bottle like they do in Europe and it's a drink fit for the gods.

I kill the taste of my Diet Cola with a good helping of Dark Rum...
Works wonders...

Pepsi throwback tastes exactly the same as current Pepsi. I honestly couldn't taste any difference. People who say the old one is better is just being "that guy".
Or maybe I'm being "that guy" for assuming there is no difference??
Either way, I have a hard time believing that even the most avid Pepsi drinker could spot one throwback pepsi in a taste test with 6 or 7 regular pepsi. That's how similar I thought it was.

if you can find Boylan sodas, give them a shot. Their cane sugar cola is one of the best sodas I've ever had.

it's actually really easy to tell the difference, IMO.
