JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Director, Vendor Audit , you will be responsible for providing leadership for the vendor audit function and in the planning and execution of audits. You will ensure a high level of quality and consistency within the department and support vendor auditors in providing value add to Suncor. You will also take a lead role in performing audits and use your expertise to develop audit recommendations for senior management in Supply Chain to improve controls and efficiency, as well as negotiate vendor recoveries.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Assist management in discharging their responsibilities by highlighting specific control weaknesses of contract non-compliance and provide independent recommendation for improvement in controls and processes
- Lead overall planning, execution and reporting of vendor contract compliance audits and controls assessments in accordance with professional standards while taking a risk-based approach
- Lead the managing of audit resources, tools and technology to support the execution of audits
- Oversee audit assignments including scheduling and monitoring performance of staff and consultants as well as reviewing and signing off on audit reports to ensure compliance with departmental standards and procedures
- Build the capability of the staff in auditing techniques and methodology
- Present audit results to both internal and vendor senior management in a professionally written report
- Build effective relationships and communication channels with senior and mid level managers in Supply Chain and business units
- Take a leadership role and expertise in data extraction and audit analysis techniques
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:- University degree in a related field
- Professional accounting designation or certified internal auditor designation preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience related to audit practices and procedures
Skills and Knowledge:- Previous experience in managing and coaching employees to achieve results
- Experience in construction industry accounting and billing practices
- Knowledge of job cost and payroll entries, transactions and reporting
- Experience in administration and compliance of large and complex contracts
- Technical systems knowledge (including SAP, ACL, auditing tools and MS Office)
- Effective leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong presentation, influencing, conflict resolution, contract and negotiation skills
