I thought I would start a thread for Calgary-specific problems, as we live in a pretty unique place!

I'll get it started:

- I want to run my furnace-mounted humidifier year round, but it only works with the heat on and not with just the fan turned on ( we run the fan in the summer to keep the place comfortable). Is there any way to enable a furnace based humidifier without the heat, to combat the lack of humidity in our great city?

Is that a YYC problem or a quick question?

Yes there is. You have to buy a different sensor that detects airflow and not just the temperature of the air

This is a furnace problem, not a yyc problem.

Calgarians who call Calgary YYC are kind of a problem.

Are these airport problems specifically? Maybe that's why the submitter is using YYC.

It's been getting a little out of hand, lately. The only one who gets a pass, imo, is Bigtime because of his love of planes and airports.

Another YYC problem. My car's low window washer fluid light has been on for months, regardless of how much fluid is in there. #YYCproblems

Well I guess a mod can delete this thread, as it's upset folks.

Could you elaborate? What's the sensor called?

I'm glad I'm exempt and allowed to refer to Calgary as YYC. However thanks to twitter, airport identifiers to refer to cities is clearly a trend that is not going away anytime soon.

I have a YYC problem. In international departures, there's nowhere to eat besides Harvey's.

Well, over here in YXE we don't have that problem, due to the difference in climate. Not sure about the folks up in YEG, but perhaps somebody from YQR will know.

It seems like a Canadian thing. Southern Californians don't say "I'm going to #LAX tomorrow" if they're not talking about the airport.

How is that a problem? We don't have Harvey's here! You lucky spoons! #YXEproblems

So it appears my thermostat solenoid is connected to the furnace's logic board, so I will probably have to have someone come out and tell me if there is a way to reconnect it so it enables the humidifier when the fan is on, as opposed to with heat, as is currently set.

They use area codes instead. #403info

I haven't even noticed it at all outside of Calgary. Today I learned that Ottawa is YOW apparently.

Why does YYC baggage claim take so much longer than other airports, is what I want to know. (To be fair, it is getting better.)
