JOB OVERVIEW
Provide engineering and technical leadership and support for the discipline. This includes creating, updating and maintaining the Suncor corporate technical standards, clarifying associated requests for information, resolution of associated deviation notices and related matters
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Create, update and maintain corporate technical standards
- Stay abreast of industry codes, standards and practices, government regulations, and available technologies
- Attend internal and external networking, conferences, participation in standards and code committees, etc
- Lead or support as required in a cross functional environment
- Mentor plant and project engineers in use of standards
- Provide consulting services on technical standards and related matters
- Technical resource for Business units in Standard and code interpretation
- Respond to project and business unit notices on deviations to and requests for information related to technical standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:- A registered professional engineer or technologist with leadership experience
- Ten or more years of industry experience in civil engineering
- Experience in the Petro-Chemical processing Industry including Oil Sands processes such as Oil Sands Extraction, SAGD facilities, Heavy Oil Upgraders, Conventional Oil Refineries, Distribution Terminals, etc
Skills and Knowledge:- Awareness of content of piping related Industry Codes including but not limited to ASME, API, CSA, NACE, ASTM, NFPA, etc
- Strong interpersonal skills including building relationships, influencing clients, managing stakeholders and networking skills
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
