Icon24 Brad Richards headed to Chicago

Looks like Zach Parise has got his wish to play with a true number one center. It appears that Brad Richards could be headed to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Twitter accounts were a buzz last evening when TJ Oshie tweeted "looks like I'm headed to the Devils. I didn't even get a chance to play a shift for the Blackhawks."

It is believed that other young Blackhawks could be headed to the Devils. Possibly Ryan Johansen and Artem Anisimov?

More to follow...

I would hope not. Huge overpayment if so.

This trade has been rejected as well. Too one sided in favor of the Devils.

Actual trade was:

To Devils:
Anisimov
Oshie
Johansen
2013 1st (phi)

To Hawks:
Richards
$1000000

I must of been drunk at the time.

If you read the email the trade was rejected for the way it was proposed by chicago (players in the conditions, not actually clicked on), not the deal itself...resent in the proper format.

Oshie + 1st or Anisimov and Johansen should be enough for Richards. Not all 4. That's ridiculous.

A terrible trade for Chicago to be sure - but the league doesn't really have the authority to reject his deals anymore - he has been a GM long enough.

That being said we hope this can be used as a lesson for some of our new GMs. The main piece of advice here is when making deals, particularly big ones, ask for the input from other GMs to get a third party's point of view.

So Chicago gives up Skinner to get Oshie and then does this, I don't get it.

I feel Richards can get back to 80 to 85 points again this season playing with Nash and Gaborik.

I have to admit I gave up a lot, but in a years time I don't think the trade will look as 'terrible' as it does today.

With Anisimov and Johansen both playing in Columbus, it's very unpredictable if their production will cotinue to increase. Johansen's should, but I predict a drop-off in Anisimov.

Plus, with Granlund and Yakupov hopefully joining the CPHL Hawks next season, I thought it was worth a risk.

The best part is Im sure I heard something to the effect that these three will not be playing on the same line ... they will be "spreading the wealth" so to speak. I have St. Louis , feel free to send me a comparable offer to what you gave out here.

Crazy return for njd. I'm glad chi likes the deal because I think he is the only one. Let's hope this turns into a giant "I told you so" for chi.
