Updating ratings and RFA instructions
I've posted the updated rating file here:
http://cphl.calgarypuck.com/download...Players_2.xlsx
I've made all adjustments based on appeals submitted by GMs. If you lobbied to have a player's rating changed and it hasn't PM'd me to ensure it wasn't missed.
We can now proceed with re-signing RFAs.
Here are the rules:
All RFA deals will 2 way at 10% instead of the 1 way UFA deals. Any player not signed to an RFA grid amount - automatically becomes a UFA with no matching rights retained.
For players 59 or lower (including prospects after their first 3 year deal expires) the players will be re-signed on the basis of a percentage raise.
The other difference between RFAs and UFAs is teams do NOT need cap space in the off-season to re-sign their RFAs as opposed to UFAs where you do need the space.
So you now need to email cphlufa@yahoo.com the players you wish to re-sign. Please include ALL players in ONE email. For each player you must include:
- Name
- Rating (OVR)
- Corresponding Grid contract: # of years and contract amount
The deadline for submitting contracts is Friday @ noon (MST). Teams how have notified the league they are away, will be granted an extension.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is also the deadline to re-call any player 23 years of age or younger with an OVR of 64 or greater (74 for goalies), otherwise that player will be subject to waivers.
Questions?

Whenever you want. Basically they have to be signed before the season starts. But you can sign them anytime between now and then.

Hey Hanna, when do you think a generic ballpark UFA list will be available. Just trying to see a general idea of who is available so I can decide if I should trade or try to get a similar player UFA .

Realistically he won't be able to provide a solid list until we go through the UFA re-signing period, which will follow the RFAs

The list I have now is exactly the same as the one I have available in the UFA and Cuts thread... just a little more in depth. I wait till the RFA period is over and I get the ok from the league before I start putting to visual web page. Right now I have templates done but there is no player on them and thats because there's always a few players added last minutes and it's more work to add them then it is to wait till the end and just do it once. I try and set it up that I can get the website up after a couple hours after I get the OK
As for giving you advise about your question from a veteran perspective that has seen his fair share of UFA signings.
- don't rely on UFA process to solve any problems/holes you have. If you can fill your holes before then do so Because usually the only players available are those that we didn't think deserved grid deals. There will be 20GM's shooting to land the same 4 defencemn, so odds are 16 or more will be left hanging. Odds are you'll have to overpay to get them and if you'll willing to overpay then trade for them and grid deal them... you'll have better odds.
- There's great deals to be had for players that don't attract a lot of attention. But word of warning, if they don't attract attention when they come at no cost tit's likely they won't attract much attention when in the trade market when they will cost you to obtain.
- Pay attention to teams cap space and players needed to fill out their rosters. It'll give you a good hit who your competitors are.
-- I always think of it as... you don't build your team through UFA process but rather you apply band-aids to your lineup

Okay all of the emails which were sent to the cphlufa account have been processed. Emails were well done!
A few comments
If there are errors let us know....
1) for the players who are rated 59 or lower. Please show the new salary (i.e. 1 yr = 10%, 2 yr = 25% and 3 yr = 50%). League responded to a few of the emails.
2) for ECHL signings, please use the link on your GM page
3) for the RFAs who will not be signed. Please use the link on your GM page (i.e. release a player).

Question about ECHL signings. When they get ratings, what's the best way to see those ratings?

Signed ECHLers won't get ratings until after we get through UFA season.
