As expected the top rated UFA of this off season did not get a chance to test the open market. The Pittsburgh Penguins came to terms on a 3 year max contract with Pavel Datsyuk on Sunday afternoon.

Pavel is the best all around hockey player in the game, no question! There was never a doubt if he would be staying in Pittsburgh or not. With Dats and Stammer lining up down the middle we feel we have the best 1-2 punch in the game. We look forward to Datsyuk returning to the line with Ilya Kovalchuk and Patrick Kane. That was the line that carried us last season and we expect even more this year.
